Reingeniería logística en la ruta marítima de Guayaquil hacia Galápagos: Caso LOGISGALAP.

Abstract

This topic was raised after observing in the case study company, a series of problems in its logistics processes of distribution and transportation to the Galapagos Islands, such as delays in delivery, high operating costs, and lack of coordination between the actors of the supply chain. These problems affect the competitiveness of the company and the satisfaction of end customers. For which, the main objective was stated: Propose reengineering of the distribution and transportation logistics processes on the Guayaquil maritime route of the LogisGalap company, 2024. The study uses a mixed methodology that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Surveys were carried out with 93 employees of the company Logisgalap S.A. to collect data on current processes, identify problems and suggest improvements. In addition, interviews were carried out with logistics and maritime transport experts to obtain a deeper insight into the challenges and possible solutions on the Guayaquil-Galápagos route. The research results revealed that the main problems in the company logistics processes include lack of proper planning, delivery delays due to weather and technical problems, and high operating costs. Process reengineering made it possible to identify key areas for improvement, such as the implementation of real-time tracking technologies, route optimization, and staff training in new logistics tools and techniques.
