Las vivencias de las personas con discapacidad visual en escenarios de aprendizaje en la educación superior.

Abstract

The general objective of this research was to reconstruct the portraits of three students with visual disabilities from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil in learning scenarios in Higher Education. The methodology applied in this research was qualitative. Three in-depth interviews were conducted, immersed in the preparation of portraits, to categorize the interactions of three students with visual impairment from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, in order to identify the difficulties, fears, myths and prejudices that could arise to have students in the learning process in Higher Education. After carrying out my research process, I can confirm that my hypothesis is fulfilled, because blind students suggested improvements in terms of inclusion policies and programs in universities; Furthermore, the existence of myths and prejudices was verified, together with the presence of their fears due to the fact of having to face new obstacles within the university environment.
