Abstract

Ignacio is an obsessive neurotic who finds himself in the first signals of a discomfort that he has never experienced before. He begins the analysis because of his “explosive outbursts in the office”, he seems to be worried about it since his job is the only thing he has under control, making it clear that he is not in charge of his life. This is something so overwhelming for him, that he decides to go to analysis and work it out. He exposes his situation: a life that was already designed for him since the very beginning, so he had to obey since his childhood, trying to impress and please his father. By doing this, he forgets what he really wants, so conveniently enough, since that what is going to make him question about himself and find a different stance or position. He seems to be tired of the same life every day. These explosive outbursts could be a claim in order to stop living the way he has always lived. In the following work, this case is going to be explained in three aspects in order to get to the same conclusion. The presumptive diagnosis is an obsessive neurosis and it will be presented with arguments and bibliography to support it.
