Construcciones sociales de los/as estudiantes del último año de bachillerato frente a la diversidad sexual. Caso : un colegio de la ciudad de Quevedo y uno de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Abstract

The present research constitutes an approximation to the social constructions of the students facing the sexual diversity, as well as to the way in which they have directed their actions from the meaning and interpretation that they have given to it. This research aimed to identify knowledge regarding sexual diversity; to disclose the practices of secondary socialization versus the others with the sexual diversity and to infer the gender biases of the processes of communication that the students use in the interaction with the other sexually diverse. For that, this research corresponded to a qualitative study, the participating population were 36 students of last year of high school of two educational units of the Cities of Guayaquil and Quevedo. The method used was the hermeneutic being the techniques of this study: semi-structured interview, focus group and technique of moral dilemmas. With this investigation, it was understood that most of the student’s knowledge has been built in their interaction with their peer groups within the educational institution as one of their main secondary socialization spaces. It was revealed that the way in which students are constructing their conceptions on sexual diversity has given rise to some practices of discrimination toward those recognized or perceived as sexually diverse.
