Evaluación del efecto de la fertilización foliar en la etapa de floración en el cultivo de sandía (Citrullus lanatus) variedad Royal Charleston en el cantón Montecristi, provincia de Manabí.

Abstract

The present experiment was carried out in the Manantiales-Montecristi sector, in the province of Manabí, between May and July 2017, the objective was to evaluate the effect of foliar fertilization on the flowering stage in watermelon cultivation (Citrullus lanatus) Royal Charleston variety for treatments and conducting an economic analysis. The experimental design was a completely randomized blocks design with 4 replicates and 5 treatments that correspond to the use of different doses of foliar fertilizer. T1 being the witness treatment (without fertilizer), T2 corresponding to 10 ml foliar fertilizer per 1 liter of water, T3 corresponding to 15 ml foliar fertilizer per 1 liter of water, T4 corresponding to 20 ml foliar fertilizer per 1 liter of water and T5 corresponding to 25 ml foliar fertilizer per 1 liter of water, in which 2 applications were made per treatment at 18 and 28 days after planting. The variables analyzed were: number of female flowers, leaflet length, leaflet width, leaflet width, leaflet width, these variables were evaluated at 33 and 35 days after planting, according to the results obtained in the present study there are significant differences for treatments determined by the Duncan test with a level of si gnificance of 0.05 obtaining favorable results in all variables using foliar fertilizer, the T4 stands out as treatment with greater percentage in relation cost - benefit.
