Abstract: | Homework is a core component of the teaching-learning process, but it is not given the significance and attention that it merits. In Unidad Educativa Particular Universidad Católica it is perceived that parents, teachers and students are not aware of theimportance of doing homework. This research project determined how the importance of doing homework is related to successful learning of English as a foreign language of the fifth, sixth and seventh grade students of Unidad Educativa Particular Universidad Católica. The results were conceived using mainly the qualitative method to collect information of the students’ opinions about homework, to find out the teachers’ homework practices and to know about parents’ attitude towards getting involved in their children´s learning process. The findings point out that the students of this institution have a rejecting attitude towards homework, and that teachers do not assign meaningful tasks to students. Additionally, it was determined that parents have a negative attitude towards homework but are willing to get involved in their children’s learning achievement. |
