Rehabilitación y Adaptación de la Casa Abdón Calderón Muñoz para la Sede del Centro Tecnológico UCSG-TEC.

Abstract

The present project shows a proposal for architectural intervention of recovery and patrimonial value of the Casa Abdón Calderón Muñoz with adaptive use to accommodate the administrative and educational spaces of the new UCSG-Tecnológico.TEC, house that was initially designed and built by the architect Guillermo Cubillo Renella.This proposal is based on principles of rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, architectural restitution and contextual reprogramming for its valorization. It is inspired by the original architectural intentions of Guillermo Cubillo, rather than imposing itself on the existing structure. Design aims to rehabilitate the past and create a dialogue with the present: between modernity and contemporaneity, not to replicate them, but to reinterpret the essence of the original work and revive it, giving it a new purpose.In this way, the project aims to demonstrate that innovation and wealth are not necessarily opposing forces. Through careful adaptation with architectural empathy that restores the value of the work, these can coexist and strengthen both the resonance of cultural heritage and the sustainability of the built environment.
