Análisis de la innovación tecnológica y su relación con el crecimiento empresarial en el sector camaronero.

Abstract

Among Ecuador's productive sectors, shrimp farming has stood out for its significant contribution to business growth and its competitive presence in international markets. Shrimp farming is not only an important source of non-oil foreign currency, but also demonstrates its ongoing commitment to technological innovation to meet its high standards. In this context, technological innovation has established itself as a key element for productive efficiency and business growth in the sector, allowing shrimp companies to access the most demanding international markets. This study focuses on analyzing whether technological innovation, represented by machinery and equipment, along with other accounting variables, has a significant relationship with business growth, represented by retained earnings. The methodology used a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach, and a multiple linear regression model was used for data analysis. Based on the results obtained, it is evident that technological innovation significantly influences business growth in the sector, confirming that investment in machinery and equipment is positive for growth. Recommendations for future research are made, such as expanding the time horizon for analysis and incorporating other indicators. Likewise, improving accounting information by collaborating with shrimp farming associations to boost investment in technology and employ strategies that strengthen global competitiveness.
