Abstract

following document shows the step-by-step development and production of the short fiction film “MANIA.” In it, we meet Francisco, a young man obsessed with a classmate named Sofía. The project focuses on the creation of a horror short film inspired by the giallo aesthetic, featuring vibrant colors, progressive rock music typical of this genre, and a celluloid aesthetic that gives the image that characteristic grain of analog cinema.The production of the short film will take place over three days. It will be shot in seven locations strategically distributed over these three days to save on production costs. The shooting days will take place in different settings to represent the journey outlined in the plot, in which we will see: a classroom, a house, a bus, a gas station, bathrooms, streets, and a library. The genre of the project is horror, so we will see a dark atmosphere, evil intentions, and supernatural elements. The narrative focuses on developing a psychological horror narrative, which, in the last act, turns into supernatural horror.
