Abstract

In the company ODCON S.A. is being penalized for low power factor according to the review of the electrical energy sheets. Additionally, the electricity distribution company CNEL EP sent an official letter No. CNEL-GLR-COM-2022-3357-O to suspend the supply of electricity, due to non-compliance with the Organic Law of Public Electric Power Service, due to this situation. has motivated to carry out the project of "Analysis for the improvement of the power factor in the factory ODCON S.A. Samborondón city-Guayas province-Ecuador”. During development, information about the machines and equipment running on the system is first collected. Then the collection of information on the average consumption and the average power factor is carried out, in order to carry out a correct sizing of the equipment installed in the company ODCON S.A., in which it is evident that it has to carry out a quick and effective action to continue with the supply and not affect the distribution networks. Therefore, the low voltage failure will be determined for the immediate correction of the low power factor. Exploratory, scientific and descriptive research was used in the project. These cases are very rare and unusual and are applied exclusively to high and medium voltage measurement systems. When registering at this voltage level, it verifies the primary behavior of the distribution transformer, behaving as a reactive generator, causing the factor to decay. power.
