Abstract

Domestic violence against pregnant women refers to any form of physical, emotional, sexual or financial violence that a pregnant woman may experience from her partner, or another family member with whom she lives. Objective: To identify situations of domestic violence in pregnant women who attend the outpatient clinic of a hospital in the city of Guayaquil, year 2022. Methodology: descriptive, quantitative, prospective, cross-sectional. Population: 150 pregnant women. Sample: 108 pregnant women who meet the inclusion criteria. Technique: Survey, Instrument: Questionnaire and scale "Woman Abuse Screening Tool". Results: Among the characteristics, pregnant women between 31 and 35 years old (40%), secondary school (54%), with income less than $400 (52%), housewives (40%), from urban areas (54%) predominate. , of mixed ethnicity (62%) and who are married (66%); Regarding the individual factors, they expressed not presenting them (80%). Regarding the type of violence, they indicated that they were not physically abused (100%); Regarding psychological violence, they never feel afraid (86%), but they do feel a lot of tension with their partner (61%); in relation to sexual violence, they indicated that they had not been sexually abused by their partner (100%); Regarding emotional violence, they indicated that they have never been emotionally abused (100%) and never feel down or bad after an argument (70%). Conclusion: It is evident that there are few pregnant women, who show some indication of domestic violence, but which in turn is worrying, in that measures are applied to prevent and eradicate this type of violence.
