Efecto de la normativa municipal en la tenencia responsable de mascotas en el sector norte de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to measure the effect that the municipal ordinance that regulates the possession, protection, and control of urban fauna in the Guayaquil Canton has an effect on the field of action of the executive process applied to comply with it. An investigation of quantitative approach, exploratory - descriptive scope of non-experimental and transversal design was carried out to the homes of Guayaquil with pets. The results determined that 60.87% of the residences that have at least one pet are located in the northern part of the city, mostly they have 1 to 2 pets, with dogs being the most frequent, followed by cats; the respondents state that they feel jointly responsible, 92.76% partially or totally agree that pet abuse is a problem for society; more than half of those surveyed would be in favor of an intervention by the State in improving the implementation of sanctions to prevent the abuse of pets. It was concluded that the regulations have influenced the responsible ownership of pets in the city.
