Abstract

The lack of knowledge and the scarce accessibility existing in Ecuador regarding the support and help for patients with aphasia, autism, mutism, and other disabilities that come alongside language disorders and difficulties in communicating, cause different social inconsistencies in occupational and educational environments, mainly segregation and discrimination. In this dissertation, "Study of the challenges and the absence of state support for patients with language disorders in Guayaquil and their visual storytelling through a documentary with an author's perspective, entitled: Más allá del amor" the importance of the communication as a tool present in the daily life of human beings, including those who suffer from language disabilities, since they make communicating a challenge that limits their independence. Therefore, it is necessary to make this deficiency visible in our system and our society to create a more accessible environment, with more opportunities for these patients, and as a result, live in a simpler and more tolerant community.
