Incidencia de hernia inguinal en niños de 0 a 5 años en el servicio de cirugía pediátrica del Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil IESS Los Ceibos, durante el periodo del año 2018 a junio del 2021.

Abstract

Our work was carried out in order to identify how many children between the ages of 0 and 5 years presented inguinal hernia at the IESS Los Ceibos Hospital; We do it at a statistical level to be able to get its incidence within 4 years, from the period of the year 2018 to June 2021 in the department of pediatric surgery; We also have the objective of being able to determine in which sex this pathology and its different presentations prevailed the most. In order to continue addressing the subject, the characteristics of the inguinal hernia were displayed, as well as its clinical picture and physical examination, which is very important for its diagnosis, in addition to its treatment, which, in itself, is the branch in which we are working, the surgical resolution; also according to what was previously described, it was possible to differentiate those hernias that already present with complications. The data collected was selected from the AS400 in which patients who only met the criteria were able to enter the study in order to obtain favorable and more accurate results.
