Análisis de los segmentos del mercado laboral según los grupos étnicos del Ecuador durante el periodo 2015 -2021.

Abstract

The objective of this present work is to determine the divergences of the ethnic groups in the access to the different segments of the Ecuadorian labor market during the period 2015 to 2021, through quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the purpose of locating factors that hinder the obtaining suitable employment. Interviews were conducted with different ethnic groups such as: mestizos, indigenous, Afro-Ecuadorian and white, in addition two econometric models were used for the explanation of the suggested objective, which were probit and Kaplan Meier, for the realization of the aforementioned models, ENEMDU surveys were taken, these data were comprised between the first quarter of 2015 and the fourth quarter of 2021. On the other hand, both dependent and independent variables were chosen, ethnicity being the dependent variable, and the independent variables being gender, marital status, income, and education. As a main conclusion, it was observed that the estimates of the variables are statistically significant, the relationship that ethnic groups have with respect to the different sectors such as: formal, informal and unemployment was analyzed, each result is in accordance with reality and with theory. foundation of the theoretical framework. Finally, proposals are made for improving the transition towards adequate employment, in turn, seeking to look for alternatives in favor of ethnic discriminatory mitigation in the Ecuadorian labor market.
