Evaluación del Bienestar de los caninos albergados en refugios de la ciudad de Guayaquil a través de la aplicación del protocolo Shelter Quality.

Abstract

One of the most important problems in the world today is the overpopulation and abandonment of animals on the streets, which can harm both public health and the community in general. In this scenario, animal shelters are extremely important, therefore, the purpose of this research work will be to evaluate the animal welfare of animal shelters in the city of Guayaquil. For this, the methodology applied is non-experimental, observational with a descriptive scope and a mixed approach using the Shelter Quality Protocol, which indicates a series of parameters and criteria to be analyzed to determine the type of animal welfare studied. The statistical processing will be based on their final percentages while these same values will be subjected to an ANOVA test to determine an influence between the type of refuge and the type of wellbeing obtained. Shelters are expected to demonstrate good and excellent wellness type.
