Abstract

Background: Adolescence occurs different changes from the biological, psychological, social and hormonal point of view, which makes it after childhood, the most vulnerable stage of the life cycle, constituting a reason for concern the increasingly early onset of sexual intercourse, which can cause the appearance of unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases among other problems, the ignorance of contraceptive methods in adolescent women who have had an obstetric event, the low level of education and the lack of opportunities in adolescent women make this priority group the most vulnerable so that women cannot progress and is a problem of public health, therefore they do not have opportunities to finish secondary education and worse continue with higher education to have and improve their quality of life, Since we understand that the adolescence stage is the period of human growth and development with physical, psychological, hormonal and social changes, it is a most important transition stage for the life of the human being. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted to estimate the level of knowledge about sexuality in adolescents from the community of San Francisco and Pascuales in offices 3-4 and 7-8 Year 2021, observational, since there is no crosssectional researcher intervention, because made a single measurement of the variables under study and prospective since the data were obtained in the future; with the purpose of improving their level of knowledge. In order to obtain the information, a survey was applied to adolescents between 15-19 years old who met the inclusion criteria for this research work. The statistical processing of the information was carried out with statistical techniques and procedures IBM SPSS Statistics. Result: In relation to the most frequent occupation is housewife with 58.5%, It was predominant that contraceptive pills are effective if 73.2% are always taken, knowledge about general counseling in family planning responds that 86.6% know On the side or undesirable effects of contraceptive methods, they answered that 56.1% do not know and 43.9% do know, the use of condoms 82.9% if they protect them from sexually transmitted infections.
