Abstract

The principle of equality is responsible for directing all other rights, since it establishes that all people are equal and therefore must enjoy the same rights, duties, and opportunities. And that no one should be discriminated against for any reason of ethnicity, gender, age, illness, place of birth, etc. The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador recognizes and above all guarantees all persons their right to formal and material equality and non-discrimination. The National Police is a state institution of civilian character, its mission is to guarantee internal order, provide citizen security, and protect the free exercise of the rights of all citizens. Therefore, the State is responsible for ensuring that the rights of police officers or aspiring police officers are not violated within this institution. Ensuring that the requirements requested to be part of this institution are not discriminatory in any way.
