Intención de adaptación de los pequeños agricultores ante el cambio climático. Caso de estudio Ecuador. Periodo 2021 – 2022.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the adaptation intention of small farmers to climate change in Ecuador. The methodology used is quantitative, the design is nonexperimental, and the scope is descriptive and correlational, because it characterizes agricultural production, the intention to adapt and establishes an association between variables. The literature review is based on theories on agriculture, climate change, adaptation to climate change in agriculture and factors that affect the adaptation intention of small farmers in the face of climate change. As the main conclusion, it is determined that the variables formal education, agricultural experience, land tenure and access to credit have an impact on the adaptation intention of small farmers to climate change and have a direct relationship with it. It should be noted that the independent variables have been selected after an extensive review of the literature on studies similar to the research topic in other contexts.
