Musicalización de la batalla entre Dumbledore y Voldemort, de la película “Harry Potter y la Orden del Fénix”, aplicando recursos compositivos y técnicas orquestales de John Williams.

Abstract

This work has the purpose of musicalizing the scene of the battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort, from the movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". For the creation of this music, compositional resources and orchestral techniques by John Williams were applied, used in the songs "Duel of the Fates", "Battle of Heroes" and "Imperial Attack" from the movie "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith", and "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope". The focus of this research was qualitative, descriptive, not probabilistic. The data collection instruments used are: documentary analysis, analysis of transcripts, scores, and audio and video recordings. At the end of this process of research and musical creation, it was possible to present some orchestral techniques and compositional resources of John Williams, showing a step-by-step process of how music can be structured and elaborated in the audiovisual format. It is intended to promote the growth of the cinematographic musical composition in Ecuador, taking as a reference one of the most recognized composers of cinematographic music of the XXI century.
