Interculturalidad en la formación de trabajo social : una reflexión al silenciamiento de la cultura indígena en la educación superior.

Abstract

This present work searches is interested in knowing the influence of cultural identity in the process of academic training of indigenous students of Social Work with the aim of making the silencing of their culture visible and rethinking career training from an intercultural perspective. The work also sought to rescue their views and experiences on those elements of their culture that should be integrated into training. An epistemological, theoretical-conceptual and normative-strategic reference has been proposed for the analysis of the information and in accordance with the objectives formulated. The epistemological reference addresses the epistemologies of the north, the south, indigenous and feminist. The theory of reproduction and critical theory have also been used to understand how the education system works. The methodology of this research was based on a qualitative approach, from there it was defined as exploratory level - descriptive and hermeneutical method, the techniques used were interview in depth and focus group with the three students. The results made it possible to know the identity characteristics and conditions of life and human well-being of the students who self-define themselves as indigenous in Social Work, allowing to have a close image of their reality; as well as the obstacles and challenges they have faced until they reach higher education and how the experience has been in it.
