Creación de un arreglo musical del tema ecuatoriano “Zamba Zamba” basado en los recursos musicales del tema “Invocation” de Tony Succar.

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to make a musical arrangement on the Chota bomba "Zamba Zamba" in Big Band format, using the musical resources and orchestration techniques implemented in the song "Invocación" by Tony Succar as main arranger and Pablo Gil as co - fixative. For this work, several data collection instruments were used; such as audios, videos, documents, graduate and postgraduate thesis; Transcriptions and analysis of scores were also carried out. This project concluded successfully with the realization of the arrangement, preserving the musical identity of the bomba and the technical, sonic and rhythmic additions used by Tony Succar and Pablo Gil, as arrangers of the song “Invocation” within the Latin Jazz Big Band approach. Bearing this in mind, the present investigation will be of great contribution to future work, both in the musical part, due to the unusual sound in the fusion of the Ecuadorian bomba and Latin jazz with a big band format; as well as in the ethnocultural part, for the exploration of Afro-Ecuadorian musical culture and its experimentation.
