Abstract

The patients with chronic renal failure are at risk of complications during the hemodialysis process; for this reason, some of the affectations that may occur during this stage will be described. The objective of the study was to determine the immediate complications in patients during hemodialysis in a specialty center in the city of Guayaquil. Methodology: the study was descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional and prospective, with the use of an indirect observation matrix applied to 100 patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis and the indirect observation guide, the results of which showed mostly that in the characteristics of the patients such as age, sex, race and educational level, prevailed older adults (70%), males (65%), mestizos (95%) with secondary academic level (65%). Discussion and conclusion, the main complications of patients with chronic renal failure during hemodialysis were arterial hypotension (62%) and arterial hypertension (37%), being diabetes (52%) and arterial hypertension (45%) , the pre-existing diseases that predisposed patients to suffer from chronic renal failure, so educational programs are required to promote the health of patients with chronic renal failure, who should orient themselves to a healthy life that minimizes the risk of complications of your health, during the execution of hemodialysis.
