Efectos del uso de YouTube en la constitución subjetiva y ficciones, en niños de 1 a 5 años, desde el psicoanálisis.

Abstract

The present study aimed at analyzing the possible effects on subjective constitution and construction of fictions in children aged 1 to 5 years. It’s important to consider the times we live in, which is characterized by a general rush and increasingly busy parents, so YouTube is sometimes introduced as the easiest and most effective way to keep children calm and entertained. Therefore, this study addressed the place of children in the present time and their relationship with virtual media such as YouTube, from a psychoanalytic perspective. The approach was qualitative, and the techniques used were participant observation on the YouTube platform and interviews with mothers of children between 1 and 5 years old. The analysis revealed the incidence of the capitalist discourse in the contents that target children and as a result of this, parents consider that by watching videos on YouTube, children can learn and develop in a better way. Similarly, the results of the analysis made it possible to identify the different functions of the use of YouTube by parents and children. However, contrary to what it might seem, for children, the use of YouTube does not replace the presence of adults or the place of Other of the signifiers.
