Prevalencia de patologías cardíacas en pacientes caninos, atendidos en consultas cardiológicas en la Clínica Veterinaria Tafur Animal Care.

Abstract

The heart is the main organ of the circulatory system, it is a hollow muscular organ that functions as a pump that drives blood through the arteries to distribute it throughout the body. This project is prepared in order to know the Cardiac Pathologies that affect pets daily. It was carried out at the Tafur Animal Care Veterinary Clinic located in Cdla. Turner 3 at km 3 via Samborondón. The project was worked with 100 patients, of which 100% were canines, who attended the cardiology consultation in said veterinary. The diagnostic method used was ultrasound. The objective of the project seeks to determine the prevalence of cardiac pathologies in canine patients. To obtain the results, the classification of cardiac pathologies was established as acquired and congenital. At the end of the project, the analysis of the results was carried out, identifying 81% patients diagnosed with pathologies, where the most frequent acquired cardiac pathology is myxomatous degeneration with 61%, it is recommended that veterinary doctors in the general consultation can do a good auscultation to be able to diagnose some cardiac pathology.
