Abstract

There are a number of diseases of the genitourinary tract in felines, better known as FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) that relates to the different conditions that affect the urinary tract in cats, which is related by their clinical signs linked between the different diseases such as hematuria, dysuria, crystalluria, polaquiuria, painful and inappropriate urination and others, depending on the cause that generates it will affect castrated, young male cats of any breed. The purpose of this work was to determine the prevalence of pathologies associated with the lower genitourinary tract in cats treated surgically at the Amevet Veterinary Clinic, with a study population of 80 cats admitted with urinary problems that present symptoms in common, taking a quantitative approach, not Experimental with a descriptive scope. The patients were diagnosed by the symptomatology they presented and therefore they went to the clinic and the results of the complementary examinations. Within the study, it is emphasized that the animals admitted, with repetition, have a sedentary life, where 71% are male, 80% neutered and 66% mixed.
