Caracterización del manejo de caballos destinados para equinoterapia en tres centros de la provincia del Guayas.

Abstract

The ethology uses methods with various animals for the treatment of disabilities in people, in the case presented the horses will take the fundamental role since they will proceed to analyze their characteristics in the three equinetherapy centers of the province of Guayas, with the purpose of verifying their behaviors, benefits at the time of performing the equinetherapy and the needs or requirements of the horse to be taken to consider if the activites are properly carry it out. Because there is a need to know the process of selecting the horse, where you must take into account the temperament, height, gait and understand that the breed and color of the animal does not influence your choice. In addition to knowing the horse selection process, it is also necessary to determine if the food is adequate, the training is appropriate, the sanitary management is what you need, if the type of accommodation meets your comfort and as a last point of importance is conserve the animal's state of health, since, if it is affected, the horse will not be able to create a bond with the patient and will not carry out adequate therapy. To characterize the management of horses for equine therapy, bibliographic reviews and interviews with the professionals and family members of the patients are required. As a result of the surveys, the three equine therapy centers were obtained with proper handling of the horses, the specialists in this area are trained to select a horse by its character and morphology, in addition to those who have the animal's well-being of the horse.
