Abstract

This research project aimed to investigate the feasibility of an ophthalmological center dedicated to medical consultation and outpatient surgical procedures in the canton of Guayaquil, in the province of Guayas, giving solution to the demand of patients with ophthalmological problems of the middle class and poor. For this research study, the main characteristics of the service that will be offered and its commercialization were identified, as well as the necessary tools for the analysis of the environment, through the use of the PESTA and the FODA. I was able to determine in what situation they are. While using tools in this investment project that is part of the analysis of the environment, internal analysis and technical study of the company, the marketing plan and the financial study, it has been proven that this business project is feasible. Through surveys, variables were identified that helped the acceptance of the service, finally the sensitivity analysis was carried out, using key indicators VAN, TIR, TMAR and the period of recovery of the investment. The study population was middle-class and poor people; The sample consisted of 384 people, non-probabilistic sampling was used, because it is not easy to locate all people suffering from ophthalmological diseases of this class. Regarding the financial indicators, these contributed to verify that the investment project is profitable. The return on equity (ROE) resulted in 38%, the return on assets (ROA) resulted in 74.81% and the gross margin was 22%. The annual balance point in dollars resulted in $ 378.142,94.
