Description: The present study aimed at analyzing if EFL storytelling sessions may be contributing or not on third-grade student English vocabulary acquisition at “Unidad Educativa San José Buen Pastor” School. The methodological approach of the present research was the mixed method approach. To test the hypothesis and gather data, an observation checklist and a vocabulary test were applied to 16 third-grade students, 9 girls and 7 boys, at the aforesaid institution. A vocabulary diagnostic test and a final vocabulary test were used to see the performance difference. The findings provide evidence as to what is the relation between the storytelling sessions and the participants’ vocabulary increase, and the difficulties they encountered during these sessions. Recommendations were provided on what the “English Storytime” project participants should do to enhance the students´ vocabulary acquisition. This research provides a background for any further research on topics related to the use of storytelling as a foreign language vocabulary teaching tool in the classroom.
