Evolución e innovación tecnológica en el sector exportador de frutas deshidratadas, periodo 2014-2018.

Abstract

The current research work aims to analyze the evolution and technological innovation in the export sector of dehydrated fruits during the period 2014-2018. The scope of the study is a descriptive and exploratory level. As a first step, the theoretical aspects related to international trade and technological innovation are based on the existing literature, from which the study variables will be selected: exports of dehydrated fruits and the levels will be analyzed of export of dehydrated fruits in Ecuador from 2014 to 2018. Finally, for the technological innovation study variable the Catalan test will be applied determining the technological profile and the MGT tool the profile, and it will be obtained as the main conclusion that half of the studied sample composed of 8 dehydrated companies that have an excellent innovative profile and the difference gap they have with respect to technology is low, in addition the dehydrated fruit sector has experienced increases and decreases in its export levels. Given the results, it is necessary that the authorities in charge boost the growth of the sector through the generation of added value, training of the human talent of the companies and maintaining alliances with them in a timely manner to increase the level of exports and thus be able to compete with The strongest dehydrated fruit export companies in the international market.
