Abstract

Institutional abuse is a social phenomenon that is now affecting children and adolescents in educational institutions, some of them having a bad experience not feeling protected by either the authorities or teachers, as sometimes it is theirs who are abused, which affects their level of educational and emotional development. The child's self-esteem is severely affected and repeatedly the abuse is ignored, So I think it is necessary for institutional abuse to be criminalized and thus be criminally punished. Institutional abuse must be reported to the competent authority, so it is relevant to be criminalized in order to be able to report it, since the departments responsible for dealing with the issue within educational institutions are currently are the student council departments, which I believe that as part of the same institution to which the perpetrator of abuse belongs, there is no independence to be properly treated.
