Abstract

One of the fundamental pillars of humanity has been knowledge, giving it means development, which leads to progress and ends in well-being. Within the improvement projects, the Municipal Autonomous Decentralized Government of Durán, sees in the need to implement a knowledge center, a library, so that the inhabitants of the city, can cultivate their knowledge which in a project to medium and In the long term, the habitants themselves can implement the knowledge acquired in this knowledge center for the progress of the city. To meet the need of the city, in the sector of the Ferroviaria II, the implementation of a library is projected, within a land that complies with the area required for it, however within the same property the creation of spaces for Recreation, thus completing a flexible, social and educational proposal. In the following thesis document the proposal for the Durán Canton Municipal Library is developed, being the result of an analysis of several factors taken into account for the process, which has focused on the most appropriate spatial organization for the project in such a way that all the needs of the users are integrated and satisfied. Taking into account the resources of the place such as: visuals towards a hill and the presence of railway tracks of Duran train, which has its station 500 meters from the area to intervene, this project is achieved through combined forms and circulations. Additionally, it was sought that the project be dynamic with the sector, which is not a strange element but rather part of the environment.
