La libertad artística simulada en Guayaquil.

Abstract

This research contains the testimony of 2 artists and 2 cultural managers, who propose different ways to bring art into spaces Guayaquil public. Unfortunately in the city street, urban and independent artists are completely prohibited from using squares and parks to carry out their artistic demonstrations. Despite this they are fighting for this resolution, of more than 20 years, be eliminated and can show their art freely in the city they were born. For its part, the Municipality of Guayaquil claims that with the prohibition of these artistic expressions want to maintain the ornate and aesthetics of the city in addition to avoiding social problems such as crime and public chaos. Support for artists is given in specific places and under characteristics involving works with historical, traditional and cultural content of Guayaquil, leaving out any other kind of artistic expression which manage to be made and kept in sight of passers-by proving that they do not cause problem, rather they contribute to the development of a closer relationship between citizens and art.
