Abstract

This paper is an analysis of the case of a woman with a hysterical neurotic structure, who consulted with a psychologist after her husband decided to leave her, which resulted in her being very distressed. However, she idealized her husband and thought of him as a caring and respectful person, despite having knowledge of his infidelities. She was a tolerant and complient woman despite this situation, just as her mother was with her father in her childhood, a situation that marks her and leads her to answer the question about femininity. From the analysis of the reason for consultation, her family history, the symptoms she manifests, the traumas that marked her and her modality of enjoyment, it was related with the theoretical constructions of different authors, in the psychoanalytic framework, regarding the hysterical neurosis to support the diagnostic hypothesis of the case and identify the aspects that support her structure.
