Abstract

We are faced with the problem of designing a space that articulates academic and administrative functions within the university campus, with the objective of satisfying a floating population of approximately 600 interfaculty students per class hour. Starting from the human being development as the elementary origin of the academic activities and fundamental component of the societies, it was the identity nexus with which the objective of the project was determined. But how to transform an anthropological perspective into a design resource ?. Faced with this question, design tools were determined such as the analysis of objects linked to the identity of the context, which generates a system of order that reinforces the conceptualization and allows to defne materials, functions and forms. These decisions are complemented with the analysis of the architectural references, analysis of the contextual determinants and influential historical value. with which to determine function, formal, materiality and concept guidelines that justify the focus of the project. In response we have the AU640 project that prioritizes spatial introspection, seeking to protect academic activities from the immediate context, with independent volumes connected through roadways allowing free circulation through the building, creating spaces of coexistence for the university community.
