Análisis de los factores que inciden en los flujos comerciales entre Ecuador y la Unión Europea. 2013-2017.

Abstract

The current research work aims to analyze the main variables that affect trade flows between Ecuador and the European Union during the period 2013-2017. The scope of the study is descriptive and correlational. In the first place, the theoretical aspects related to trade flows are based on the existing literature, from which the independent variables that affect the trade volumes are obtained and the augmented gravity model is applied. In addition, panel data will be used to perform GLS regression models and regression models of fixed and random effects. Finally, the analysis of the relationship between the variables with the commercial flow of Ecuador with the European Union is made, and the main conclusion is that GDP, geographical distance and preferential agreements are the main factors of the proposed model. Given the results, it is necessary that the authorities in charge apply the exchange and commercial development policies in a timely manner to increase the level of trade flows with the European bloc.
