Análisis evolutivo de las redes de acceso de fibra óptica GPON - XGPON.

Abstract

The present work consisted in carrying out an evolutionary analysis of GPON and XGPON fiber optic access networks. Chapter 1 describes works related to the topic as background of the research problem, as well as the definition and justification of the problem to be investigated, then the general objective as well as the specific objectives are presented, in which the hypothesis and applied methodology. Meanwhile, in chapter 2, the fundamental theoretical description of the benefits of fiber optic, disadvantages, FTTx architectures, active and passive optical networks, as well as the architecture and infrastructure of passive optical networks is made. Finally, in Chapter 3 the analysis of the access networks is performed through the evolution of passive optical networks (PON), next generation passive optical networks (NG-PON) and XG-PON networks. The technologies, architectures, migration scenarios, coexistence, transmission mechanisms and their technological comparatives were reviewed.
