Cumplimiento de medidas de protección en el personal enfermero en áreas radiológicas de un hospital de Guayaquil.

Abstract

The radiation protection is of vital importance for the nursing staff exposed to radiation regardless of the area in which required its use. However, the problem arises because if you do not have the necessary care from before, during, and after the radiation exposure incurred in biological risks that can lead to some kind of illness caused by this occupational acti vity. During this research, the authors were raised as a general objective to determine compliance with measures of protection in the staff nurse in a hospital radiology areas of Guayaquil; Through the methodology used was descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional design ,with qualitative methods through the matrix of direct observation and quantitative data through surveys and data collection instruments, which allowed to obtain the following results: 27.5% of the nursing staff respondent indicates that there are no means of protection required in the work area, also the 31% considered that always exposes any part of the body at the moment of some kind of review it was concluded that the hospital in this study could not have completely signs required in the areas of radiological even more in the operating rooms where the use of radiation is not frequent and also use portable computers; however, by factors such as lack of knowledge and lack of time, the nursing staff sometimes do not use the materials or apply the measures of protection.
