Manejo y administración de la nutrición parenteral en pacientes de la UCI y especialidades clínicas del tercer piso de un hospital de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Abstract

The present study was conducted on the management and administration of parenteral nutrition in uci patients and clinical specialties of the third floor of the Abel Gilbert Pontón hospital, the objective is to determine the management and administration of Parenteral Nutrition in Uci patients and specialties Third floor clinics. The field research methodology is descriptive, quantitative and prospective; the population and sample is constituted by 68 nurses who work in the services of the UCI and clinical specialties of the third floor, during the period from October 2017 to February 2018, for this purpose we used data collection methods through surveys with a structured questionnaire which allowed to obtain important information on the type of management and administration of parenteral nutrition made to the entire sample with the application of an instrument and technique: direct observation guide for nursing staff. The result obtained is that in 100% of the personnel that work 50% have a degree of professional formation, with work experience, which can offer correct nursing care of the management and administration of the NTP, based on scientific foundations to satisfy the patient's needs; due to lack of training on the part of the institution or lack of se lf-interest, for which the majority of the staff carries out their work mechanically without relying on an updated protocol that guides their daily practice and management.
