Teatro Biblioteca Municipal de Bahía de Caráquez.

Abstract

The following work presents an architectural proposal for the project Municipal Theater - Library for the Bahía de Caráquez area, located at Manabí province, which is looking for a place to bring back the cultural activities of the sector in order to continue its development. After a previous analysis of the users, the activi-ties of the sector and land conditions, it is shown a formal, functional and structural conception of a buil-ding, which complies with a program of flexible needs that includes from main spaces of large audience like the auditorium and the library; to spaces of daily recurrence as an administrative department, cafeteria and educational classrooms. The project is organized in an enlarge volume on a passable plaza that covers the largest area of the land, with which it seeks to create a direct connection between the roads that frame the site. The design takes integration with its immediate environment as a priority and has the intention of take advantage of the climatic agents that fall upon the place, and this is what makes the concept of permeable envelopes appear, that gives a sense of transparency to the spaces and connects them not only visually, but also physically with its exterior.
