| dc.description | Introducción: La cervicalgia está muy relacionada con la TTM ya que el conjunto muscular cervical tiene tanto conexiones nerviosas como relación anatómica al conjunto muscular mandibular. Objetivo: Determinar la incidencia de la disfunción temporomandibular en pacientes con cervicalgia. Metodología: se realizó un estudio descriptivo y correlacional con una muestra de pacientes con dolores cervicales. Se utilizaron diversos instrumentos de evaluación, como la Escala Hit 6, Neck Disability Index y el Test Helkimo. Resultados: se encuentra una alta incidencia de TTM en pacientes con cervicalgia, principalmente en el grupo de 20 a 30 años. Se encontró una asociación significativa entre cervicalgia y TTM, con impacto en la calidad de vida. Conclusión: Se confirma la relación positiva entre TTM y cervicalgia, resaltando la importancia de una evaluación detallada extensiva. Se sugiere la necesidad de continuar con las investigaciones para mejorar la comprensión de estas condiciones. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Cervical pain is closely related to TMD since the cervical muscle group has both nervous connections and an anatomical relationship to the mandibular muscle group. Objective: To determine the incidence of temporomandibular dysfunction in patients with cervical pain. Methodology: A descriptive and correlational study was conducted with a sample of patients experiencing cervical pain. Various assessment tools were employed, such as the Hit 6 Scale, Neck Disability Index, and the Helkimo Test. Results: Show a high incidence of TMD in patients with cervicalgia, particularly in the 20 to 30 age group. A significant association between cervical pain and TMD was found, impacting the quality of life. Conclusion: The positive relationship between TMD and cervical pain is confirmed, highlighting the importance of a detailed assessment.
