Abstract

The document contains the development of the architectural proposal "Reception center for retirees in the canton Machala". This would be a place for elderly people, which will be equipped with spaces for activities that meet the need for integration in a safe place between people of the same age range, generate connection and sense of belonging with the place, provide a resting place considering the conditions of the place and the needs that the user has, provide the user a place to do therapy and preserve their health, provide the user a space for their recreational activities, among other activities for the care and development of the welfare of the retiree. The decision was made to use in our favor the existing vegetation in the ground under the concept of Biophilia which is nothing but generate feelings of well-being when we are in contact with nature. One of the strong determinants of the terrain is its geometry. The length of the terrain exceeds approximately 5 times its width, therefore, strategies were sought to break with this compact and elongated formal conditioning.
