Abstract

The objective of the investigation was to analyze power as a contemporary discursive mechanism and its impact on the banalization of mental health through digital entertainment through a bibliographical review focused on psychiatric, psychoanalytic, and philosophical literature. Therefore, the method used in the present investigation is justified since it uses data found on digital platforms, with the goal of describing the banalization of mental health located in digital entertainment. Because of this reason, the population, and sample that determines the collection of data is concentrated on users who produce digital content on the TikTok and Twitter platforms. A non-probabilistic sample has been used for this investigation. The design used was structured as a document. The investigation was based on the content analysis method. From the results, it was possible to say that power mechanisms affect the contemporary subject through a logic based on psychopathology and the increase in neoliberal self-sufficiency. Technologies have created new palliative discourses that invalidate the subjective experience of psychic suffering.
