Niveles de obesidad en pacientes caninos Canis lupus familiaris y felinos Felis silvestris catus con historial de enfermedades metabólicas, que asisten a la veterinaria “Zamora” entre los meses de octubre del 2022 a enero del año 2023.

Abstract

This research was directed towards canines and cats that presented some degree of obesity and that had a history of metabolic diseases in the Zamora veterinary database in order to be able to analyze the different variables related to obesity such as weight in kg, the pattern of consumption, the type of diet they had and correlate them with metabolic diseases, BMI, Kcal and the lifestyle of the patients' guardians; Thus, this non-experimental prospective study was carried out at the Zamora veterinary clinic between October 2022 and January 2023, obtaining a sample of 100 patients divided into 50 canines and 50 felines, dividing the investigation into four phases: data collection from medical records, questions in survey format to the tutors of the patients, collection of the measurements and the weight in face-to-face care of the animals accompanied by the tutors in the veterinary facilities and the tabulation of data in order to submit them to statistical tests such as it is the Chi square, in order to be able to relate the previously mentioned variables to each other.
