Efectos Adversos en el uso clínico de los antirretrovirales en pacientes con VIH atendidos en el Hospital de Infectología en el periodo 2018-2020.

Abstract

This research addresses the issue of adverse effects in the clinical use of antiretrovirals in HIV patients, taking into account that adverse effects are considered as an unwanted effect that develops from the application of treatment or intervention. Objective: The objective of this research focused on establishing the adverse effects in the clinical use of antiretrovirals in patients with HIV treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in the period 2018-2020. Methodology: From the methodological point of view, a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective and observational investigation was carried out in a sample of 200 patients treated at the Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña Infectology Hospital in the period 2018-2020. Results: determined a higher prevalence of male cases, with 68.3%. In the same way, the most used scheme TDF/FTC/EFV with 41% and the most frequent SECONDARY effects correspond to gastrointestinal alterations with 34%. Conclusions: The antiretroviral regimen that causes the greatest adverse effects in HIV patients is associated with TDF/FTC/EFV, since it presented a total of 84adverse effects in a sample of 200 patients, equivalent to 45.16% of the cases, evidencing with more frequently, adverse effects associated with gastrointestinal (32), neurological (17), cutaneous (11), renal (9), hepatic (7) and hematological (8) alterations.
