Impacto del Acuerdo Multipartes entre Ecuador y la Unión Europea en las exportaciones de conservas de atún ecuatoriano durante el período 2017-2021.

Abstract

The main purpose of this project is to carry out an analysis of the incidence of the trade agreement between Ecuador and the European Union and in the exports of canned tuna and its contribution to the Ecuadorian Trade Balance during the period 2017- 2021. In this way, relevant information will be obtained in order to know the current situation of the tuna companies, as well as determining areas of opportunity in order to maximize the benefits of the multi-party trade agreement. Thus, exporting companies can use this study to develop strategies in favor of the sector. Subsequently, after an exhaustive study, it is concluded that the trade agreement between Ecuador and the European Union, in force since 2017, has not managed to significantly increase canned tuna exports to the European community, which is reflected both in the statistics of the Ecuadorian trade balance as well as in the information provided by the exporters. Finally, strategies and recommendations are proposed to carry out improvement processes for this industry from the public and private sector.
