Valoración del pH urinario en perros con diferentes dietas nutricionales en la clínica veterinaria Vinyo.

Abstract

In the present investigation, urinary pH was assessed in dogs with different nutritional diets at the Vinyo veterinary clinic, considering that an adequate acid-base balance is essential for the normal functioning of most of the physiological processes of the organism; For this, bibliographical research was previously used, which allowed the research problem to be clearly identified, then field research was carried out, in which some materials such as a refractometer, reactive strips, antiseptic alcohol, cotton, sterile gloves, syringes, etc. among others; the research was descriptive and not experimental, the number of animals taken as a sample was a total of 120; the results obtained allowed us to conclude that there is a correlation between the pH variables of urine and food, the results of the chi-square test are lower than the level of significance of 0.05, on the contrary, the existence of correlation between the pH and the variables sex and age of the animal. The results obtained in this research do not agree with those obtained by Araújo, Furtado, Araújo, & Rocha (2018), who found no significant difference in the pH of dogs fed homemade diets and the closed commercial ration.
