Eficacia de la ozonoterapia como tratamiento de la estomatitis subprotesica.

Abstract

Introduction: The use of ozone therapy in dentistry has increased over time, being one of the most used treatments at the stomatological level, the union of ozone with sunflower oil takes the name of oleozon which has become the most used to treat subprosthetic stomatitis. The use of oleozon topically has shown a great germicidal power and has a great action of oxygenation of the tissues. Objective: To analyze the efficacy of ozone therapy as a treatment for subprotesic stomatitis. Materials and methods: the work is a bibliographic review, it is a research with a qualitative, retrospective cross-sectional approach with a descriptive and analytical design, whose sample was 30 articles, respecting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: the use of ozone has excellent bactericidal, healing, anti-inflammatory and germicidal properties, it is effective in Grade I and II of ES, the number of oleozon applications necessary is between 5-10, and the healing time between 7 and 9 days. , patients usually have very mild burning and does not interfere with treatment. Conclusion: The use of ozone therapy, especially oleozon in patients with subprotesic stomatitis, turned out to be very effective in patients suffering from said pathology.
