| dc.description | This research report was developed after the the analysis of two translated books, which were used as samples of culture-bound literature: “Huasipungo” by Jorge Icaza and “Cien Años de Soledad” by Gabriel García Márquez. Culture-bound literature is the kind of literature that is embedded in cultural terms, where the intention of the author is to transmit the cultural context of a specific society. By cultural terms it refers to: the way of life, customs, traditions, dressing, language, religion, education, among other descriptors. For this purpose, this analysis is based on linguistic and extralinguistic features, which show the different types of cultural elements and the problems that arise when translating culture-bound literature and how to tackle such problems. To carry out the analysis proposed, extralinguistic and linguistic analysis charts were used. The extralinguistic analysis chart is based on different elements that appeared within the ST, according to Nida’s classification; and the linguistic analysis chart is based on a classification developed by the researchers. | en_US |
