Desarrollo e implementación de un sistema de solicitud de beca deportiva por medio del módulo de servicios en línea para los estudiantes de la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil.

Abstract

In the present degree project, a web system prototype was developed and implemented in order to automate the process of applying for a sports scholarship, intended for students of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil who have outstanding participation in the different sports disciplines. Surveys were applied to analyze the needs presented by all the students involved and also to the staff of the Sports and Recreation Unit area. The dissatisfaction and ignorance of the students was evidenced at the time of carrying out said procedure. It was also found that due to the fact that this process, being manual, becomes tedious and exposed to problems such as overlapping, making the wait for your final response prolonged. To carry out this web system, the software development methodology was applied by prototype aligned to the standards and technical specifications of the UCSG, as it is a module for the student online service. All manual processes were adapted to the solution that is being proposed, thus improving the communication channels between students applying for the sports scholarship and the administrative staff involved. The system allows students to apply online for a sports scholarship application online, consult the process follow-up in each of the respective instances until final approval. Coaches can also access this system to review the applications and whether it is the case to approve them or not. It is concluded that this technological proposal is of great contribution to the digital transformation of the procedures that the students of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil must perform.
